Abstract

Ultrasonography enjoys the intrinsic advantages of universal availability economy and non-invasive nature. It presents no radiation hazards and can be readily repeated. Ultrasonography can demonstrate normal thyroid anatomy and pathologic with remarkable clarity. The role of ultrasonography as an initial diagnostic modality for thyroid noduleswith high sensitivity and specificity as correlated with the pathological findings.
