Abstract

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is increasingly recognized as an early indicator of future cardiometabolic disease. Women with prior GDM are at elevated long-term risk of developing type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), hypertension, and ischemic heart disease (IHD).
